Cobantur Boltas, Turkish-German logistics group consisting of the legally independent companies Cobantur and Boltas, strengthens operations, management and market presence.
The logistics service providers, founded in 1982 in Turkey and 1978 in Germany, are pioneers for individual intermodal transport solutions and bundle their competencies and resources in the logistically demanding sectors of chemicals, automotive, FMCG, fashion and healthcare, among others.
Operations
With the direct train connection between Nuremberg and Trieste, the logistics group is responding early to the nearshoring concepts of the shipping industry. The new block train connects Nuremberg via Trieste with Pendik and Ambarli in Turkey as well as Patras in Greece with regional and supraregional pre- and onward carriage. “The new connection thus expands the range of resilient and sustainable links between economic areas that are moving closer together,” says Iskender Cobanoglu, managing director of the German Boltas GmbH, adding, “The intermodal line is so successful that we are already starting a 2nd round trip.” In addition, the past six months have seen an intensive review of the overall processes. “The analysis has provided us with important data for the further expansion of our network and is the starting signal for a number of internal structural and IT projects,” says Ulas Cobanoglu, Vice President of Turkish
Cobantur. His focus will be on strengthening the already extensive national and interregional transport network in Turkey. In addition, both companies plan to expand their full-service offering and increase the number of their warehouse logistics centers in Turkey, Italy, France and Germany.
